Bay Malayali fundraiser to support Kerala in its fight against COVID 19. This effort will be fulfilled in association with the Consulate General of India and FOMAA. Funds will be used predominantly for Equipment purchases and will be delivered straight to the government of Kerala nodal officers in charge of the relief efforts. (Details here)
What’s our goal?
Our goal is to raise an amount of $10,000 by May 31, 2021, to support the Govt. hospitals in Kerala by procuring hospital equipment for them.
How are the funds going to be utilized?
Funds will be used to procure medical equipment (Oxygen Concentrators, Oxyflow valves & Pulse oximeters) and then ship to Kerala. Proper distribution channels have been established through the state government’s health officials in partnership with FOMAA. The Consulate General of India is arranging free shipping in partnership with Air India for pieces of equipment purchased in the US. Internationally procured items will be delivered accordingly as well.
Pieces of equipment will be purchased and delivered based on specific requests from the Nodal officers to avoid wastage.

- Are these contributions directly going to Kerala? All shipments are addressed to Chief Secretary, Kerala, and or his designated representative.
- How do you avoid buying unwanted equipment and reduce wastage? Federation of Malayali Associations of America (FOMAA) works with Nodal officers to identify the specific need and procure items only based on those needs. FOMAA manages this process for several Malayali associations in America and Canada so that Bay Malayali can issue Tax deduction letters to all contributors who identified themselves as part of contributions.
- Will Bay Malayali issue Tax Deduction Letters? Bay Malayali is a 501 c(3) organization and can issue Tax deduction letters based on your request.
- How Bay Malayali handle the excess funds? Any and all excess funds will be allocated towards the future charitable projects undertaken by Bay Malayali.
