Location

Format & Rules  

      • Bay Malayali  Open Tournament
        • Preliminary Rounds
          • There will be Qualifying rounds to determine relevant groups/categories
          • Once the appropriate group/category is selected, All teams may be subdivided into groups of four or more
          • Each team will play each other within the subgroup
          • The game will be decided in ONE set of 21 points
          • In case of equal points, Net point average & Coin toss will decide tiebreakers in that order
        • Semi & Finals
          • Semi & Finals will be decided in THREE sets of 21 points each
      • Women’s Doubles
        • All teams may be subdivided into groups of four or more
        • Each team will play each other within the subgroup
        • The game will be decided in ONE set of 21 points
        • In case of equal points, Net point average & Coin toss will decide tiebreakers in that order
        • Semi & Finals
          • Semi & Finals will be decided in THREE sets of 21 points each
      • Other Management Rules
        • All decisions of the Tournament Committee will be final and binding and cannot be questioned
        • The committee reserves the right to change dates if needed
        • Since this is a charity tournament, registration fees will not be refunded.
        • The committee will provide the Birdies for the games, limited to 1 per set. If both teams agree, they can bring in additional as-needed.
        • To register for the tournament, you must be of Indian origin.
        • Indian Origin is defined as the criteria used by the Indian Government to determine OCI eligibility.

    Equipment List to be brought by Team  

      • Your rackets
      • Good quality shoes with a proper grip (Badminton shoes are Ideal)
      • Water and refreshments for you and the team
